Looks like the projected schedule for the 2010 Empire State Games is the same week as 3P at Perry. Too bad, since they are in Buffalo this year. But my decision was made before this, since tryouts are held on the same weekend as a racing event I and doing - and tryouts can NEVER be moved to a different weekend for any reason ever. [/sarcasm]

What's everyone's feelings on the state of the ESG shooting? For those that participated in the past summer's "festival", would you rather do that instead?

A festival type event really appeals to me. I wanted to go last summer but sadly I had to work. The story of my life these days. But certainly I love the idea of everyone being able to compete in all levels of skill and types of shooting. Although I do like the idea of moving it around the state to make it fair to those who might have to drive a long distance. It is my opinion that the NYSRPA should be running this and supporting it..... (nice to see ya back sureshot)

The festival was alot of fun, but the games have more of a social aspect after the the match is over. I would do both!!! My son really enjoyed the fetival, meeting everyone, seeing something new, and hopefully spark an interest for the future. Perry is a little too much of a commitment for me at this time, so I'll take what I can get and smile. Smile

I shot the festval also. My first shoot in many years. I would do that again. I will also try to do ESG, but sometimes work interfers with it. I cannot quailify on the first Sat in June because of work (Central area) we have a huge Pagent in my town that is cohosted by the school.(which is where I work). Perry for me right now would be in a future time. Also ESG says they will shoot, but until I see it on their site, with all sports reinstated I couldn't commit to it.

Because of my work schedule I can only shoot one event, I certainly would chose teh empire games over the festival, I think more people back home understand what that is, plus I think we need to continue to show a strong support to keeps the games going for shooting

oh yea, I plan on having both my kids attend the tryouts, as new shooters they have their good and bad days, maybe one of them could get lucky and earn a spot. They both seem to take after their dad and are shoot some nice prone scores. Their standing on the other hand looks like swiss cheese, just like when I started. Shock

Funny thing is I got it back, and lost it again, and got it back again. Let's hope they don't catch me again!

Does CMP have something else going or did you mean a 1903? (Not a springfield 1903)

Anyone ordered one the 1913's from CMP? I was wondering how long it takes to receive the rifle?

Shot in a vintage match today. 03A3 Springfield barks a bit louder than my Anschutz... but I still had fun. Smile
